This is a really special day for many, many people. Pokemon to me is what Harry Potter is to others. I grew up with it and honestly opened the doors to all nerdom. I used to read the Pokemon manga, play the Pokemon card game, and I still play the games that continue to come out. I remember running home after school just so I could watch Pokemon and not miss a moment. I almost feel safe in saying most gamers out there owned or own at least one Pokemon game. It’s one of the largest franchises from Japan, for both adults and children.

For those who have never played Pokemon and want to give it a try, wait until Pokemon Sun and Moon come out. I would suggest the original Green, Red, or Blue, but so many people have issues with graphics these days… I personally have played recently the original games for nostalgia and it’s just a great game!

At any rate…Happy 20th, Pokemon! You were a huge part of my childhood and I will celebrate by playing a little Pokemon today and giving Fire Emblem a break!
