May the fourth be with you! Star Wars is a huge deal in Japan. It’s actually just a world wide phenomenon. Especially since Star Wars has been transferred to Disney, it’s an even bigger deal.
There is a huge correlation between Star Wars and traditional Japanese culture. There are some uncanny similarities that I just didn’t even think about such as samurai garb, Japanese movie references, and even moral code! Take a look at these articles for more details.

I hate that Star Wars Day is in the middle of the week this year. It’s up to you if you want to stay up all night and watch all the movies, I just don’t have that much endurance! I think later on in the week it should be okay to have a binge watching party, so I have some ideas for food that you might enjoy. (Or even for next year!)
I found this adorable Yoda Inari Sushi recipe from Starwars.com. Along with Yoda, you should also make these Sushiwoks from LydMc. So many colors!
I thought this would be a fun party idea. The Star Wars Bikkuriman Chocolate come with stickers in each packet. It would be fun to make a trading game out of it! Even if the chocolates aren’t good, those stickers are unique and strictly Japanese.
These decorations are really amazing. AMAZING is an understatement for how truly brilliant this is. There’s just no way I could fathom getting these for myself. I really, really wish I could!
For hardcore Star Wars fans, these Star Wars Woodblock Prints on Ebay are absolutely fantastic. They are one of a kind too. I am about to cry… they are so cool!
Today is the day where Disney releases Star Wars: The Force Awakens tsum tsum collection in Japan. They will come to the US on June 21st, but you can always get the Star Wars classics on Amazon!
Last, but not least are these Samurai “Star Wars” Action Figures. I literally had to drag myself away from these models at Emerald City Comic Con. Artistically they are stunning! I love Darth Vader’s outfit in particular. The Death Star crest on his helm is pretty spectacular. I want to decorate my house with these!
Everything comes full circle. The Star Wars story and traditional Samurai are so complementary. I love a Japanese touch on my Star Wars stuff.
